Original Air Date: October 18th, 2008 This is a game sample for the great Saturn game, Astal. This video was originally comprised of footage tested in the SSF emulator, which (at the time) had overcome roadblocks/problems it had with some games like Astal, so it made for an interesting test and it handles the game wonderfully btw. We are re-uploading the intros to the game at a later date with the Dazzle Platinum (at higher quality) as they were lost on our old computers. I could've waited, but want to get down to re-uploading whatever Sega Saturn footage we have. Astal was one of my childhood favorites and one of the earliest Saturn titles I played. Whereas many people in my area started off with a Playstation, me and my brother were the only people on our block with a Sega Saturn.

While it doesn't do anything special or particularly different, it does what it does very well. Astal is largely your run-of-the-mill action/platformer with beautiful sights and sounds, and a simple, touching story. Astal (the titular character) can smash enemies with his fist, jump on some foes, blow enemies with powerful wind gusts, pound the ground to shake foes, and rely on his 'special bird companion' to find items and attack enemies.
